Former sarpanch Ramzan Sheikh's house set ablaze by mobs in JK

House of former sarpanch Ramzan Sheikh of Imam Sahib village, who was killed by terrorists yesterday, was set on fire by mobs today in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district.

The family was rescued by the police.

An investigation is underway.

Earlier on Monday, three terrorists killed Sheikh amid a scuffle, the police said.

Sheikh was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

"Three terrorists fired and killed ex sarpanch Ramzan Sheikh in Shopian. In scuffle a terrorist Shaukat also got killed," Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S.P. Vaid tweeted.

Earlier this month, another former sarpanch, Ghulam Rasool Ganie was shot dead by terrorists in Mattan area of south Kashmir's Anantnag.
