Simon Cowell's pregnant gal-pal's former teacher Steve Lewis has denied accusations that the pair had a six week relationship when she was a student, it has been revealed.

Lewis shot out an email to Mirror Online, in which he revealed that he regretted making a drunken phone call but denied Lauren's ex-classmate's claim that they had a relationship which lasted for six weeks.

He admitted to being 'naive' and 'a bit flirtatious' with the New York socialite but claimed that the drunken call late at night was the reason he resigned the following day, over 20 years ago.

The 45-year old former teacher strongly denied having any sexual relationship with Lauren and said that he was not removed from the school nor was he charged with any crime, adding that he left the South Florida school in 1998, to get a better job.

He termed the scandal as 'a story about adultery, a broken friendship and essentially now a smear campaign'.

Lewis defended his reason to speak out about the accusations as he feels he has been unfairly dragged into the scandalous story.

He added that he feels that in the media's desire to smear a woman for having consensual sex outside of marriage, with a 'somewhat famous personage', he has become the victim.
