Four aftershocks in two hours jolt Nepal

Four moderate aftershocks, measuring between 4 and 5.2 on the Richter scale, have reportedly jolted Nepal, taking the total number of aftershocks recorded in the country after last month's massive earthquake to 320.

According to media reports, the first aftershock was recorded at 5.58 am, with the epicentre at Ramkot, seven kilometers west of the capital Kathmandu.

It was followed by a 5.2-magnitude tremor with epicentre at the Sindhupalchowk district. Another aftershock of magnitude 4 originated in the same area some time later.

The fourth tremor was recorded two hours later, with epicentre at Sindhupalchowk-Tibet border area.

The Himalayan nation is still recovering from the two major quakes that killed almost 9,000 people and destroyed 5,00,000 homes.
