Pakistan's Interior Ministry today announced a four-day holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr for government organisations, semi-government organisations, banks and educational institutions.
According to the notification, the holidays will run from July 5 until July 8, reports the Dawn.
On July 5, a meeting of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee would take place to sight the Shawwal crescent, which would be attended by religious scholars and experts of Pakistan Meteorological Department.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be on July 6.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the month of Ramazan in which Muslims fast for 30 days.
