ANI Nalanda

Four persons lost their lives on Friday after a three-storey building caved in due to wet ground conditions.

The dead included two women, one of whom was unmarried, and two children.

Water released from a dam in Jharkhand along with incessant heavy rains heightened the possibility of floods and led to the tragedy in Nalanda District.

According to natives, huge water flow hit the building at night, which caused the damage and made it fall.

According to officials, the water level of Bihar's Panchane River increased alarmingly.

Water levels in Goithva and Jirain rivers have also risen causing enough concern to the district authority. Continuous rain and stagnant water on agricultural fields have damaged crops. Transportation on the National Highway 82 is getting affected as water of the swollen Panchane river came on to the road.
