Four people have died in a shootout in France at a Roma camp in the north-eastern part of the country, said police.
According to the BBC, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said that a six month old baby, a man and a woman were among those killed.
One policeman died shortly after he was injured, according to reports. Another policeman was seriously injured.
The shootout took place in the northern town of Roye, around 110km north of Paris.
French President Francois Hollande and Prime Minister Manuel Valls expressed shock over the incident.
