Afghan Police have reportedly killed four Taliban militants at the end of a six-hour long gun battle at a guesthouse in a diplomatic area of Kabul.

The BBC quoted the Afghan interior ministry, as saying that the assailants were armed with a rocket propelled grenade launcher, three AK-47s and other weapons and were stopped before reaching their

target, the former Heetal guesthouse, which is located in the Wazir Akbar Khan District, which is home to several embassies and official buildings. No civilian or military casualties were reported.

The interior ministry said the guesthouse, officially known as the Rabbani Guesthouse now, was also targeted by the Taliban in December 2009. It is quite popular with foreign tourists and is owned

by the Rabbani family.
