Four terrorists and two army officials were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Frontier Region (FR) Bannu on Thursday, Pakistan military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The IBO was carried out in the Mullagano area of the frontier region as part of the countrywide Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad to eliminate terrorists.
"During an IBO at Mullagano area, Jani Khel, FR Bannu, four terrorists were killed," The Express Tribune quoted a statement issued by ISPR as saying. It added that Lieutenant Khawar and Naik Shehzad were killed in an exchange of fire with the terrorists.
Earlier in the day, security forces killed one suspected terrorist and detained 22 others in nationwide raids as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
Military operation Radd-ul-Fasaad was launched by the Pakistan Army across the country following a series of terrorist attacks left over 100 people dead last month.
In an interview earlier this week, ISPR chief Asif Ghafoor said Radd-ul-Fasaad is aimed at countering the 'mischievous' elements whether they existed within the country or outside.
