Francis Bacon's 'Three Studies of Lucian Freud' could become one of the most expensive modern artworks as it is expected to sell for 100 million dollars.

Christie's auction house's contemporary art specialist Francis Outred said that 'Three Studies of Lucian Freud' could beat 'Triptych' record, which was sold in 2008 for 86 million dollars, News.com.au reported.

Bacon's three-panel portrait of his friend Freud, which was painted in 1969 and has never been sold at auction, will go under the hammer in New York on November 12.
