French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Laurent Fabius, accompanied by a delegation of fellow dignitaries, is scheduled to visit India on an official trip starting February 5.
According to reports, Fabius will be holding meetings with various personages in the national capital, including External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar before holding a discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy Segolene Royal, who is also part of the delegation visiting India, shall participate in The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) Delhi Sustainable Development Summit.
As per French sources, the objective of this visit is to discuss a range of bilateral and international issues as well as the reduction of carbon footprints in rail transportation, climate change and sustainable development.
French National Security Advisor Jacques Audibert had earlier in October last year called on Prime Minister Modi during his India visit when the latter had confirmed that a trip to Paris had been scheduled for 2015.
