Young Fulham player Dan Burn has insisted that he did not mean to insult Manchester United by likening them to a Conference team, which is a lower-ranked league in England.

The tall former Darlington player impressed on Sunday as he his fellow Fulham defenders dealt with 81 crosses in a famous 2-2 at Old Trafford.

According to Metro.co.uk, Burn appeared to be deriding David Moyes' gameplan when he said that he has never headed that many balls since the Conference, although the youngster insisted that his comment was not meant to be interpreted as disparaging.

Stating that as there were a lot of crosses, statistically more than any game, Burn said that he had made the comment jokingly, adding that United have world-class players, and they will be up against more world-class players.
