Fulham owner Shahid Khan is planning to offload the club's statue of Michael Jackson and return it to Mohamed El Fayed, the previous owner of the Craven Cottage club.

According to metro.co.uk, fans of the west London club will be delighted to hear the Cottagers' new owner wants the unsightly statue to beat it.

The sculpture was placed outside the Hammersmith Stand in 2011, when former owner Al Fayed claimed his good friend was a big Fulham supporter and despite widespread mocking from rival fans for the off the wall idea, the ex-Harrods boss said it was human nature to want to honour the passing of such a superstar, the report said.

However, it seems this is it for the Jackson statue, with a statement from Fulham confirming its removal from Craven Cottage amid development of the ground, the report added.

The statement said that the statue is not part of the Riverside development of the stadium and will be returned to the former chairman in due course.
