British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury retained his European heavyweight title after taking his unbeaten record to 24 with a technical knockout of Romania's Christian Hammer at London's O2 Arena and has now set his sights on fighting Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury won after Hammer lost with a technical knockout as the Romanian's corner threw in the towel after round eight.

Fury, who is the mandatory challenger for Klitschko's WBO world title belt, said that he is ready for him, adding that he is a much-improved fighter and that's why he is ready for the Ukrainian next, the BBC reported.

Fury, who is 6-feet 9-inch tall and had a seven-inch height advantage, used his jab to great effect, before knocking Hammer over in round five with a thudding right hand to the top of the head.

Fury said that he is there to entertain, adding that he came there to box a very worthy opponent who was very tough. He added that Hammer took a lot of punishment and his corner knew they had to pull him out.
