G20 Brisbane: F18s deployed hurriedly to address security concerns

In view of ongoing G20 Brisbane summit, two F18s have been reportedly deployed for a security alert.

An unidentified boat was seen laying near Bribie Island at about 7.40am Sunday. Later, the boat was declared safe after a proper investigation conducted by the aircraft, News.com.au reported.

Subsequently, two vessels were deployed by the watercraft monitoring tool Ship Finder near the coast off Bribie Island at 8.30am.

Security forces have been on high alert with the world's leaders gathered in Brisbane for this weekend's summit. Around 6000 police officers have been patrolling the streets, combined with military personnel and SES volunteers providing further support.

The closure of the conference is expected to cause major disruption and delays in the city. Though the authorities have stated that there exists no current credible terror threat, security forces remain on high alert.
