In a bid to upgrade teaching parameters in the Ganderbal District of Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities are building a training centre for teachers in the region.
After completion of the training centre, teachers will be able to get training in the district itself, instead of travelling up to Srinagar for the same.
Teachers will be given training on evolving methods and techniques of teaching so that the system of education develops overall and the children of the valley are better educated.
"When we talk about education it is very important that we not only teach our children, but along with that we train our teachers about the new system of education, methodology of education so that they are able to teach our children in a proper manner. We did not have a DIET (district institutes of education and training) building, now it is being constructed at a good speed," said District Development Commissioner Sarmad Hafeez.
The training centre is being funded by the state government. Meanwhile, local residents expressed happiness and said the construction of the building will be over soon.
"We will benefit a lot from this. Our teachers coming from far off places had to go to Srinagar for training. Now they will not have to go to Srinagar, they will be trained here and they will be able to teach our children properly. This is getting ready in a very short period of time," said a resident of the area, Rafiq Ahmad.
The building is likely to be completed within a year.
