Kick starting his address with 'bharat mata ki jai' at the official launch of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that even after gaining freedom under the leadership of Gandhi his dream of clean India is unfulfilled.

Talking of Swachh Bharat Campaign logo, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "It is not just a logo, through it Gandhi is watching us, asking as when we will clean India."

"Be it mandir, masjid, gurudwara or any other place, we must take efforts to clean our surroundings. We must change," said Prime Minister Modi.

"We have reached Mars. No PM or Minister went there. It was the people who did it, our scientists who did it. So can't we create (a Clean India)," he added.

"I know people will criticize me in the next few days, but if it leads to a clean India, then I am prepared for it," said PM Modi.

Urging the nation to change its mindset, Prime Minster Modi said, "Is cleaning only the responsibility of the Karamcharis? Do citizens have no role in this?"

"This campaign is above politics, this is purely due to our love for the nation. This campaign is for 125 crore people and I will say this 125 crore times. Government and ministers can't do it alone," he added.
