English former glam rock singer-songwriter, Gary Glitter, has raked in 1million pounds of royalties after Oasis used a clip of one of his hits, it has been revealed.
The 69-year-old rocker, whose real name is Paul Gadd, will earn cash for many years from Oasis track Hello, the Sun reported.
The 1995 Oasis album has sold 22 million copies worldwide.
Glitter- who gets a payment for each album sold, or when the song is played on the radio or internet- is entitled to the cash as he is still credited as the co-writer of the track.
He has received an estimated 200,000 pounds for copyright infringement after taking legal action against Oasis in 1999.
Music lawyer Craig Brookes told the publication that Hello could have earned the singer 1million pounds on top of 300,000 pounds a year or more from royalties linked to his back catalogue of songs.
