Emphasising that a gas grid is as important as roads and rail connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the Centre's plan to take piped gas to households in Bihar will change the quality of life of the people in the state.
"We already have Ganga, now we want to bring in 'Urjaa Ganga'.....A gad grid has as important as rail and roads. Gas based economies are taking shape. We will lay several kilometres long gas pipelines. Pipeline gas should every household. It should reach every family," Prime Minister Modi said.
"This will benefit people in Bihar and will change quality of life here," he added.
Seeking to kick start the BJP's poll campaign in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a slew of schemes, including the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) here on Saturday.
The Prime Minister, who shared the stage with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, flagged off the Daniyawa-Biharsharif Railway line and the Patna-Mumbai railway line.
He also dedicated the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Technology, Patna to the nation and an incubation centre for medical electronics.
