Supreme Court's historic ruling on same-sex marriage has bought bundles of happiness for Jack Evans and George Harris as after 54 years of togetherness they finally could tie the knot.
The 85-year-old Evans and 82-year-old Harris, who were two of the first people to get married post court's verdict on June 26, tied knot after they were given a marriage license in Texas, reported Us magazine.
The couple, who has spent decades fighting for LGBTQ rights and marriage equality, wore suits with red ties for the happy occasion.
The two activists, who met at a party in 1961, had previously tied the knot in 2014, but were not legally recognised as a married couple in Texas.
Harris said last year that their real focus has been their legacy for the community and they have spent their lives trying to improve and encourage young people to make a difference.
