Former England international Paul Gascoigne, popularly known as 'Gazza', reportedly left his fellow anglers stunned in a surprise Forest appearance this week and netted two beauties.
Gazza, who was treated in hospital after being found staggering about in the street last month, was once again spotted reeling in public. However, this time it only involved angling and not drunkenness, though the former England star did take some Stella lager with him on his fishing trip to the New Forest.
Gazza stunned fellow anglers by pitching up at the Rockbourne trout fishery near Fordingbridge, Hants, on both Sunday and Monday, and chatted with others there and swigged from a can of lager, which he pulled from a blue bag with the slogan Keep Cool And Carry On, The Mirror reported.
A fellow angler said that it was great to see Gazza healthier and happier than recently, adding that he was smiling and really seemed to be enjoying himself.
The angler also said that Gazza certainly knew what he was doing and is obviously an accomplished angler. He also said that the former England legend managed to hook a couple of very decent sized trout and even posed for a photo with them.
The angler said that he only ever Gazza drinking from one can and he seemed happy and sober, adding that he was very upbeat and was chatting away quite happily to other anglers.
Gazza spent five days in hospital after begging for help as he clutched a bottle of gin outside his rented 5,00,000 pounds flat in Sandbanks, Dorset, last month. He said that he turned to drink again after being given notice to leave the flat but vowed to beat his addiction once more.
