Former England international Paul Gascoigne, popularly known as Gazza, has reportedly fallen in love with a new woman as he continues his battle against alcohol.
Gazza has reportedly been spotted canoodling with Mandy Thomas on several occasions since he went on a three-day detox at the end of August.
The one time Tottenham Hotspur player had checked in to Poole Hospital following a three-week bender but since then the loving pair has appeared to be inseparable, The Mirror reported.
Friends of the struggling midfielder have quietly spoken about their hopes that this new relationship could lead to Gazza getting back on the wagon for good. A source said that Gazza and Thomas have become extremely close.
The source said that Thomas is besotted with Gazza, and he feels the same way. The source added that she is the best thing that has happened to the former England star for a long time.
The source further said that people are hoping Thomas could be the woman who saves Gazza from himself.
A fellow resident of Bournemouth, Thomas has separated from her husband Gary with whom she has two grown-up daughters, and is said to be inseparable from her new love.
The two were spotted walking arm-in-arm on the beach in Sandbanks, Dorset, the report added.
