Geert Wilders, the leader of the Dutch anti-immigration Party for Freedom, has assured the country that Prophet Muhammad's cartoons will be aired on Dutch TV, despite them not being broadcast on Saturday, as planned earlier.

He explained that due to a 'misunderstanding' with the network, the cartoons were not aired on the slot allocated to his party on national television and instead, an old recording about migrants was featured, reported the BBC.

The cartoons were showcased at an event in Texas, U.S. last month. It was attacked by two gunmen, who were killed by security guards.

Wilders was a speaker at the event.
