Gene Wilder, who starred as the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka in 1971 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', has slammed Tim Burton's remake of the film.

During an interview at New York nonprofit center 92Y on Thursday, the actor lashed out the director's 2005 reimaging of the Roald Dahl-adapted story, the New York Daily News reported.

Wilder said that the movie is probably Warner Bros.' insult.

He said that Burton is a talented man, but he doesn't care for his stuff.

Although Wilder dissed the movie, he appreciated Johnny Depp's rendition of Willy Wonka in Burton's adaption of the movie and said that Depp is a good actor.
