The Shiv Sena on Monday said the General Budget for 2016-17 will be a test for the government as the nation has high expectations from the same, adding that the ruling dispensation should be ready to face backlash from the Opposition.
"Definitely it's going to be the test for the government, the scenario in the country caused by the opposition at the background of this JNU issue, at the background of this Hyderabad University issue. So, the Opposition is going to leave no chance to demoralise the government on various front and, therefore, the government has to be ready for it and the public at large is expecting many things from the government," said Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande.

Kayande said the nation has high expectations as Narendra Modi as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate in the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls talked about bringing back black money and implementation of the GST Bill among others.
"Based on development, the people chose him. So, there is a lot of expectation and definitely it is a test for the government," she said.
The Shiv Sena leader further said the women also have high expectations from the Budget.
"Be it the building of toilets, price of cooking gas cylinders, price of essential commodities like rice, wheat and vegetables. All the prices have only increased since the government came into power and nothing has reduced. So for the women, especially for the working women, what will be convenient?" she said.
