George Lucas recently said while accepting rare distinction of honorary membership in the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers that he thinks art is technology.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the filmmaker, who has been a pioneer of both filmmaking and cinema technology, including visual effects, digital editing, cameras and sound, said that he owes it to a lot of engineers and talent, who said it was impossible and came through for him every time.
Lucas added that they pushed the envelope and all art and artists bump up against the technology ceiling, but he just needed to go further for his stories.
