German Ambassador to India, Michael Steiner, on Saturday condemned yesterday's terror attacks in Kashmir as heinous, and said that his nation is proud of the fact that so many people took part in the election process in the state.

"I think it is heinous act; ......We all are proud that so many Kashmiris came out and did take part in election process, this is a very good sign they have expressed their will, and some people don't like that," Steiner told the media here.

"We can only condemn that (attacks in J-K), but what is encouraging is that despite these sad facts people don't follow these methods, people don't like these methods. I wanted to express that we are with the Kashmiris and victims of these dreadful acts," he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the attacks by militants in Kashmir yesterday was an attack on the Indian democracy.

Addressing an election rally in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, today, he paid tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in protecting the country's security.
