Germany's intelligence service has warned that Islamic State (IS) militants may own anti-aircraft rockets in northern Iraq that could take down passenger jets.
According to the Express Tribune, the intelligence service authorities warned that IS extremists possess portable rocket launchers that may be captured from Syrian army stocks.
Some launchers are modern and advanced while others are dated from 1970s.
The shoulder-mounted rocket launchers that are known as Man Portable Air Defense Systems or MANPADS were of Russian design but may have been manufactured in other countries, said the report.
