A German of Somali origin is believed to have carried out the attack that targeted a hotel in Somalia's capital of Mogadishu, killing 15 people, a Somali intelligence officer said.
He added that the male suicide bomber, who detonated his car at the entrance of Jazeera hotel, is believed to be from Bonn, reported the BBC.
The officer said that investigators were trying to find out how the bombing was masterminded.
The hotel is located near the city's airport and has often hosted international diplomats in the past.
Islamist militant group Al Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack, which is believed to have been carried out in response to the offensive launched by an African Union force and the Somali government against the terror outfit.
