Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has reportedly gone on record to say that Pakistan's military operations in Waziristan and Khyber "are pushing a major series of global terrorist networks onto us."

However, he also stressed that he considered Islamabad a "key partner" in the peace process, adding that success depended on "an enduring peace" with Islamabad, reported The Express Tribune.

Ghani made the above statement ahead of a four-day official visit to the United States.

He also added that in terms of security, Afghanistan had braved an "extraordinarily difficult" winter and the "spring" will be difficult too as the so-called "fighting season" with the Taliban began.
