England's limited-overs coach Ashley Giles has insisted that he still wants to replace Andy Flower as the team's head coach despite their humiliating 45-run defeat by minnows the Netherlands in the World Twenty20.

After Test coach Andy Flower stood down following England's 5-0 Ashes series defeat, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) took the decision to appoint one coach for all formats of the game.

According to the BBC, Giles said that he was convinced 24 hours ago that he still wants the job of head coach and is still convinced that he wants to do it, although he added that the World T20 experience has been hurting and tough on him as a coach.

Giles has been tipped for that role, along with the likes of South African Gary Kirsten and he said that just one bad performance has not made him change his mind.
