Looks like Punjabi sensation Gippy Grewal's dream to make a "proper wedding based movie" is all set to come true finally, with his upcoming project 'Manje Bistre.'
The Baljit Singh Deo directed flick is an out-and-out family drama, revolving around a Punjabi wedding, with the crisp of romance and comedy. It also stars Sonam Bajwa, Karamjit Anmol and Jaggi Singh.
Gippy, who was in the national capital on a promotional spree, said, "It was in my mind to make such proper wedding based movie, basically showcasing 90s romance, which is nowadays hard to see. It's a happy mode movie, with full of Punjabi traditions and culture. It is entirely a family film."
'Manje Bistre' sees Gippy as Sukhi, who while preparing for his sister's wedding, falls in love with Rano, portrayed by Sonam.
She stated, "My character Rano is a complete 90s girl. On one hand, she is homely, on the other, she is confident and kind of cute too. As per my experience, I am really glad to be the part of this movie."
Written and produced by Gippy himself, 'Manje Bistre' is slated to release on April 14, 2017.
