Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Giriraj Singh on Thursday backed Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah's remark that his party could end its alliance with the People's Democratic Party if the Kashmir issue is not solved, adding that the party would take the requisite steps in matters of national interest.
"The [BJP-PDP] alliance was done keeping in mind the problems in Kashmir. We cannot compromise with nationality. All steps will be taken only in national interest," Singh told ANI.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut welcomed Shah's statement.
"This is a good thing. This is what we expect from the BJP. We welcome the decision by Amit Shah," he said.
On Tuesday, Shah stated that the government in Jammu and Kashmir has been formed to solve the Kashmir issue. He had also said that nobody could stop BJP workers from leaving the coalition if a solution of Kashmir issue is not found.
