The first Action Journey of India's inaugural Global Citizen India saw an incredible 675,000 actions taken in just ten days since launch.
More than 300,000 young Indians registered as Global Citizens and took part in this first drive for positive change by tweeting, posting and signing petitions - actions designed to create meaningful impact in three key areas: Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Clean Water & Sanitation.
The incredible support received by the Global Citizen platform shows the commitment of the youth to make change happen by focusing positive pressure on change-makers to influence dialogue, policy and social change in India.
Bhavya Bishnoi, spokesperson of Global Citizen India said, "It is truly inspiring how passionate the youth in India is about spearheading change. In India we face unique development challenges that adversely affect millions of people; it is the mission of Global Citizen India to bring together the youth, the government, corporates, NGOS and other influencers to drive policy changes and commit significant resources to help solve some of the India's biggest challenges. This incredible response shows that young Indians are ready to catalyse the movement to help eradicate extreme poverty 2030."
