'God-fearing' Fawad Alam 'never lost hope' of international comeback for Pak

Pakistani cricketer Fawad Alam has said that he never gave up hope regarding a comeback to the international team and always believed that one day he would be rewarded for his efforts.

Although he dominated in the domestic platform, Alam has had a stop-start international career which currently boasts three Test matches, 29 ODIs and 24 Twenty20s, although he was rewarded for his patience and domestic efforts when he was chosen for the 2014 Asia Cup squad.

According to www.pakpassion.net, Alam said that he was elated to be included into the squad for the five-nation tournament and given another chance to prove his worth, adding that due to his belief in God, he never gave up hope regarding a comeback to the squad and worked hard in the domestic platform in this regard.

 

However, Alam admitted that there was a lot of pressure on him to perform given his long absence from the international squad, although he added that he made sure he played with the utmost concentration and to leave an everlasting impression that would make him a regular member of the team.
