Indian wildlife photographer Baiju Patil has won the World Cup Photo Contest 2016 hosted by the Federation Internationale d'Education Physique (FIEP).
The silver medal was won by Bonoro Maurizio of Italy and bronze by Kloppers John of South Africa.
Baiju has won many national and international awards in wildlife photography. His photograph of a fox won a gold medal in the individual category (Print) in this competition. He clicked this photo in Beed, Maharashtra. He had visited many states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat to capture photos of the fox but did not succeed. He stayed in a village near Beed for eight to ten days and took a lot of efforts for this photo.
"Fox always panic just by the noise of a shutter of a camera and run away", Baiju said.
The FIEP conducts World Cup photo contests every two years and awards a total of three gold medals each year. Photographers from forty-five countries had participated in the prestigious competition held in Serbia.
