Gold pieces worth Rs. 26.96 lakh seized at IGI

A team of customs officials on Wednesday seized 938 grams of gold in 118 small pieces with a market value of Rs. 26.96 lakh from two passengers at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

The passengers having gold concealed in their sandal sole had Indian passport and were coming from Bangkok.

The gold recovered by the officials was seized under Section 110 and both the passengers were arrested under Section 104 of the Customs Act of 1962.
