Mocking the government, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader D.P. Tripathi on Sunday said that good days have arrived now for the railways after the government announced its decision to hike rail fares.
"The good days have arrived, especially for railways. I don't remember any instance when railway fares were increased by 14.2%. This is for the first time that railway charges are hiked by so much," Tripathi told ANI.
He also said that even when the UPA government was in power, the railway fares were never hiked so much.
Tripathi also commented on the Vyapam Scam in Madhya Pradesh, saying, "The state chief minister has said that the law should take its due course. I think this is what we should do also."
He said it was wrong to level allegations against the Chief Minister and his council of ministers before the case is tried.
