Google is reportedly working on a latest Android feature that lets phones and tablets to automatically connect and interact with nearby devices.
According to The Verge, the feature, called Nearby, might allow people to easily share information with others or receive deals from stores that they're in.
The feature is likely to be announced at Google's I/O conference by the end of this month.
Meanwhile, it is not yet clear as to what Nearby would be used for.
However, it is being assumed that the Android phone might be able to easily interact with a friend's phone or a smart device in one's home, or a hidden beacon in a store providing deals, the report says.
