Govt. expert committee to decide on new Andhra Pradesh capital post-bifurcation

The government has said that will soon appoint an expert committee to decide on the new capital of Andhra Pradesh after the state of Telangana is created.

Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said in New Delhi last evening that the panel will be asked to giveits recommendation within 45 days of the passage of Telangana Bill by Parliament.

The Telangana Bill, cleared by the union cabinet two days ago, has recommended Hyderabad as the common capital of both states for the next ten years.

Ramesh said the Centre will finance the building of the new capital, including a Raj Bhawan, a Secretariat, a High Court and all other related facilities.

 

The Telangana Bill has been sent to President Pranab Mukherjee with a request to make a reference to the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly to obtain its views on the creation of a new Telangana state.
