Congress leader Anand Sharma on Monday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre is functioning in a very questionable manner.
"We are surprised that why there was a delay in the announcement of the elections and the imposition of the Code of Conduct. For the Prime Minister's rally to take place on the 10th, for him to make Delhi related announcements and now this announcement of today is a brazen violation; now it is for the people to see that these are again promises being made or decisions being made connected to the elections," said Sharma when asked about the Centre's move to revise the pay scale of Delhi Administration Subordinate Service (DASS).
"I can understand that during general elections he was making promises, but then he was not the Prime Minister of India and those promises have not been fulfilled. But the promises that he is making now, he is making as the Prime Minister of India," he added.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has reportedly approved the proposal to revise the pay scales of Delhi Administration Subordinate Service (DASS).The pay scale of DASS Grade-II/Steno Grade-II has been revised from Rs. 5000-8000 to Rs. 5500-9000.
Sharma further said the Congress would soon be ready for the assembly elections in Delhi, and added that there would be many surprises and shocks for the opponents.
"I believe that he will lead the election campaign," he added when asked whether Ajay Maken would lead the Congress campaign in Delhi.
