"The only gainer out of this whole process has been the Hurriyat which has got undeserved publicity, because the Narendra Modi Government completely mishandled the process," Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI.
"What kind of dialogue was this, where the agenda of the talks had not been agreed to ... Where the interpretation of the Ufa joint statement between India and Pakistan was different," he asked.
Pakistan called off the NSA-level talks with India late yesterday night.
A statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Office said the proposed talks will not serve any purpose if conducted on the basis of what it called preconditions laid down by India.
