Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Wednesday urged New Delhi to talk to the embassy and government of Saudi Arabia to ensure that legal action is taken against the Saudi diplomat, who allegedly abducted and raped two Nepalese women in Gurgaon.
"Being a diplomat, there is an issue of diplomatic immunity. But I don't think it should apply in this case. I would urge the government and the Foreign Affairs department to talk to both embassy of Saudi Arabia as well as the government of Saudi Arabia and ensure that due process of law takes place, as it applies to any other citizen," Dikshit told ANI.
"This is a very serious allegation. When something of this serious nature takes place, there is a natural process of law that has to take place and it should take place," he added.
