Former England captain David Gower has said that Stuart Broad should take a leaf out of David Warner's book to win over the Australian fans, and respond in a light-hearted fashion to the taunts of his opponent country's spectators.

According to news.com.au, Broad is likely to be on the receiving end of an Australian backlash following his decision not to walk in the opening Ashes Test match at Trent Bridge this summer, with England going on to record a 3-0 series win.

Gower said that it would be interesting to see how it would work, adding that Broad may have a tough time to start with although not everyone would be as crass as to just pick up on Lehmann's words and make life hard for the player.

Gower enjoyed success in his career when playing in Ashes series in Australia and believes any England player can endear themselves to the partisan home crowd if they show their abilities, the report said.
