As Open Championship hopeful Graeme McDowell begins his final preparations at Muirfield, he is ready to make his boyhood dream true while saying that the Claret Jug probably beats the Green Jacket, in a photo finish.
According to the Mirror, the 2010 US Open Champion left the Open Championship at Lytham a year ago as a frustrated man after a closing five-over 75 saw him slip out of contention having gone out with Adam Scott in the final pairing.
However, 12 months later, McDowell will begin his final 27 holes of preparation for the 2013 Open on Tuesday morning after three wins in his last seven tournaments, the report added.
McDowell said that he was already buzzing about The Open with the excitement starting to build quite early and had already pictured 40,000 people at Muirfield with the wind blowing across it.
