The Congress Party on Thursday accused the BJP-PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir of hatching a grand conspiracy to 'hand over' the state to Pakistan, and pointed to the latest demands by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Mailk as proof of the same.
"Ever since the BJP-PDP government has come into existence in Jammu and Kashmir, there is a very strange spectre that has unfolded. Repeatedly, India's sovereignty has been challenged by the unfurlingf Pakistani flags. The separatist elements have gotten emboldened and the PDP seems to be ceding state authority deliberately, by design, to the separatists. The BJP in J-K is complicit while the Centre is deafening in its silence. It seems like there is a grand conspiracy between the BJP-PDP government to hand over the state to the Hurriyat and the Hurriyat in turn wants to hand it over to Pakistan," Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI.
"Therefore, these demands that you see: that Salahuddin should enquire into the alleged incidents that have taken place: it is only because there is a clear wink and nod from the Centre that they will not act against this element. Next you will hear that the separatist elements want the judicial commission should be headed by [JuD chief] Hafiz Saeed or Osama bin Laden should come out of his grave and do the honours," he added.
Earlier, Malik 'appealed' to banned United Jihad Council chief Syed Salahuddin to 'probe' the recent attacks by unidentified gunmen in Sopore, which left a reported two people dead.
