Nationalist Conmgress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar on Friday said that ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal committed suicide because he was not treated right by the Centre.

Anwar Told ANI, "Grewal committed suicide because he felt that the behavior of the Modi government was not right with him. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had given such assurances earlier, then Grewal may not have committed suicide."

Parrikar had on Thursday said that one lakh people are yet to be benefitted under the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme and will be assisted soon after the rectification of an error that is causing the delay.

Grewal consumed poison on Tuesday. However, the cause behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained.

The 69-year-old former jawan was protesting over the OROP issue at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
