Grooveshark co-founder Josh Greenberg was found dead at his home in Gainesville, Florida. He was only 28.

The police claims they found nothing that pointed towards "evidence of foul play or suicide," while his mother, Lori Greenberg, added that he didn't have any health related problems, the Mirror reported.

Greenberg had formed the legally embattled music-streaming site in 2006 with Sam Tarantino while they were studying at the University of Florida, and the company closed operations back in April after losing a copyright-infringement lawsuit filed by major music labels.

They managed to reach a settlement with the industry and apologised for their "serious mistakes."

Escape Media Group, Grooveshark's parent company had agreed to pay 75 dollars million to labels Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group if Grooveshark violated the terms of the settlement.

According to Lori, Greenberg was more relieved than depressed about the settlement, and was hopeful about potential new things that he could start.

He was listed as a co-founder and board member of Florida startup TapShield at the time of his death.
