Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Tuesday said that the Gujarat Government is diverting people's attention from important issues and focusing on matters like banning beef in the state.

RJD leader Manoj Jha slammed the government, saying it must not have read 'Quran', 'Bible' or 'The Gita' and that is why it is banning beef from the state.

"It is very important to look at the way they divert attention from the pertinent issues raised by Hardik Patel," Jha told ANI.

"Hardik Patel exposes the very idea of Gujarat model. It showed very well that how a limited prosperity has been thriving in Gujarat at the cost of unlimited pauperism," he added.

Jha further said although Gujarat is diverting people's attention from important issues, the nation is matured enough to understand the game.

On Monday, billboards with pictures of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and the Islamic symbol of the crescent moon and star came up in an Ahmedabad locality with a message from the Gauseva and Gauchar Vikas Board of the Gujarat government, quoting a verse it claims is from the Quran to back its case for the protection of the cow.
