Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit chief Monirul Islam has confirmed the deaths of the militants, reports the Dhaka Tribune.

Narayanganj ASP Faruk Hossain said the law enforcement agencies have been conducting the drive since Saturday morning.

A joint team of CTTC unit, RAB and district police started the operation at the three-storied building at 9:36 a.m. on Saturday and cordoned off the building from early hours of the morning.

The operation is still underway and the joint force and the militants are exchanging gunshots frequently.

According to sources, the law enforcement agencies are conducting the drive following the information taken from the arrestees involved in Gulshan incident.

The Holey Artisan Bakery attack in the Gulshan area was Bangladesh's worst terrorist attack in Dhaka's high-security diplomatic zone that killed 22 people mostly foreigners.
