Three hours of gunfire in central Kabul has shaken the Afghan capital in what the police said was an attack on a hotel owned by the son of Afghanistan's former President Burhanuddin Rabbani.
Fighting between militants and Afghan security forces raged for hours, starting around 11 p.m. and continuing into the early morning,
reported CNN.
Indian ambassador to Afghanistan, Amar Sinha, said there is "no such confirmation or news" on report of many Indians dead and wounded at
the Heetal hotel.
However, the hotel's manager reportedly said that the hotel was not targeted and had not been breached.
A Taliban spokesperson claimed responsibility for the attack on Twitter, saying that the hotel was targeted because many foreign invaders were staying there.
